Diario de abordo. Estamos a punto de llegar a la zona SAR. Hasta el momento hemos tenido buena mar. 

Durante el trayecto hemos tenido la oportunidad de acabarnos de aclimatar. Ya casi ningún miembro de la tripulación se marea.

Estos días nos hemos dedicado también a acabar de hacer una puesta a punto de las lanchas e incluso hemos podido hacer algo de ejercicioEl equipo médico nos ofreció un taller de RCP e movilización del paciente politraumático. También nos hemos familiarizado con el material del hospital, de manera que todos estemos preparados para responder rápidamente.

Resulta curioso también, como el hecho de no tener internet más que un par de horas al día, nos ha ayudado a conectar más los unos con los otros. Pasamos muchos ratos charlando y bromeando. Parece ser que todo el mundo hace lo posible para entenderse y, pese a la barrera idiomática nos lo pasamos en grande gastándonos bromas entre nosotros. Resulta ser que Coke siempre tiene un as en la manga y la otra noche nos hizo un show de magia que provocó las carcajadas de media tripulación.Este grupo de hombres y mujeres que han dejado atrás sus hogares y seres queridos para llevar acabó el compromiso de no dejar a nadie morir en el Mediterráneo, es ahora  nuestra familia y todos vamos a cuidar los unos de los otros.

Hoy hemos dispuesto ya los turnos de vigilancia para los próximos días. Estos serán en el puente, donde mantendremos una observación constante. No sabemos que nos depararan los próximos días… Lo que sí sabemos es que estamos juntos, estamos fuertes y estamos preparados.

Journal on board. We are about to reach the SAR area. So far we have had a good sea.

During the trip we had the opportunity to finish acclimating. Almost no crew member gets dizzy. These days we have also dedicated ourselves to finishing the set-up of the boats and we have even been able to do some exercise.

The medical team offered us a CPR workshop and mobilization of the polytraumatic patient. We also become familiar with the hospital material, so that we are all ready to respond quickly.

It is also curious, as the fact of not having internet more than a couple of hours a day, has helped us to connect more with each other. We spent many times chatting and joking. It seems that everyone does their best to understand each other and, despite the language barrier, we had a great time playing jokes with each other. It turns out that Coke always has an ace up his sleeve and the other night he did a magic show that provoked the laughter of half the crew.

This group of men and women who have left behind their homes and loved ones to carry out the commitment of not letting anyone die in the Mediterranean, is now our family and we are all going to take care of each other.

Today we have already arranged the surveillance turns for the next days. These will be on the bridge, where we will keep a constant observation. We do not know what the next days will bring us … What we do know is that we are together, we are strong and we are prepared.
